Shop The Look: A Neutral Transitional Living Room Design
Transitional spaces—ones that have the familiarity of traditional design but with more clean, simplified lines—will forever be my favorite. I also love the restful, calm feeling a neutral color palette can create.
In this design, I’ve paired a comfy, neutral gray sofa with some eye-catching cerused black oak chairs. The curved legs and caned back of the chairs lend a sophisticated feel and some nice contrast to the clean lines of the sofa. Brass tones in the coffee and accent tables add warmth and dress things up a bit. A more traditional chandelier would work here, but I loved that this sleek circular chandelier brings a decidedly updated feel to the entire space. Crisp white linen drapes soften the windows and add texture while the pillows and rug provide a subtle mix patterns.
