Design Eye On… Studio McGee at Target

Just when I thought I couldn’t love Target any more than I already do, they go and collaborate with Studio McGee on a gorgeous line of home furnishings. They might as well just go and take all my money right this very moment!

Studio McGee, in case you aren’t familiar, is an interior design studio started only in 2014 by husband and wife team Syd and Shea McGee. Shea’s signature style is bright, clean, and what I like to call sophisticated casual and it’s earned her well-deserved celebrity status in the interior design world. The McGee’s own home furnishings store and website, McGee & Co, is filled with all the things you might need to get the Studio McGee look in your own home. Target’s modern traditional style Threshold line is the perfect match for them.

I’ve rounded up some of my personal favorites from this premier collection and many are already selling like hotcakes, no surprise! Luckily for us all, this is a multi-year collaboration and Shea’s already announced that this collection will get restocked. I’ve got restock notifications turned on in my Target app because even though I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning to snag a few things, several were already sold out!

1/ 11" x 14" Framed Canvas with Molding Antique  This little landscape in a vintage-looking frame is an absolute steal at $17! It would look great on a small art easel and displayed on a console table or dresser.

2/ 24" x 36" Rectangular Decorative Mirror with Rounded Corners Black This mirror is crazy versatile with it’s simple black metal frame, the rounded corners softening it just perfectly. While there are a lot of mirrors similar to this on the market right now, the $70 price point for this size is hard to beat.

3/ Limestone Knot Figurine Natural This was the first thing I saw from the collection, and at $20 it was the first thing I added to my cart! They’re the perfect addition to a stack of books on a coffee table or built in and instantly add a high-end, designer touch. Don’t even ask how much I’ve seen stuff like this go for in designer showrooms!

4/ Ceramic Assembled Table Lamp White If I could design my ideal white lamp, this is basically it. Clean and simple lines but with a little added detail and texture to keep it interesting.

5/ 96" Decorative Wooden Bead Garland Natural I’d use these not as a garland to hang up, but loosely coiled up in a big bowl or on top of a stack of books. Like the Limestone Knot Figurine, decorative accents like these are designer’s favorites for the texture and interest they add.

6/ Lynwood Upholstered Round Cube Another great versatile piece, this round ottoman would be great in a pair as a coffee table or tucked under a console table for extra seating when needed.

7/ Woven Drawer Console Table Black I have been and always will be a fan of caning, so the little painted caning detail on the drawers of this table are what make this noteworthy in my book. The sleek gold drawer pulls are a nice elevating touch, too!

8/ Rossmoor Indoor/Outdoor Plaid Runner Tan The broken lines stripe pattern allows this runner to have some presence without being too overly graphic like some stripe patterns can be. As an indoor/outdoor rug, it would be a great for high-traffic areas since it’s can be hosed off for cleaning.

9/ Woven Plaid Pillow Gray While it was the little tassel edge detail that won me over on this pillow, every last pillow in this collection is so. good. I love that Target has started doing pillows with zippered covers not only for cleaning but so you can swap out the poly filler for a feather one if you like.

10/ Decorative Wooden Vase Natural These vases are sold separately but I think they’re even better as a pair. The unfinished, raw wood in a sleek and modern shape are sculptural enough all on their own but would also be stunning with a few faux stems.
